Linguistics Department

The grammatical structure and use of ASL (American Sign Language) and other signed languages are investigated by faculty and students at Gallaudet University's Department of Linguistics. ASL is the language of instruction. Programs are offered at the graduate level for deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing students.

MA in International Development

The M.A. Program in International Development at Gallaudet University offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses to deaf, hard of hearing and hearing students in education and professional studies. The department offers a master's degree in International Development, focusing on people with disabilities in developing countries.

Mathematics Department

Gallaudet is dedicated to increasing the number of deaf and hard of hearing professionals in science and technology fields. Students in the Department of Science, Technology and Mathematics can choose our Pre-Medicine Program, apply for scholarships funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation or work at off-campus internships through collaborations with programs at Duke University, Tufts University and James Madison University.

Model Secondary School for the Deaf

The Model Secondary School for the Deaf (MSSD) is the demonstration high school of the Laurent Clerc National Deaf Education Center, located on the campus of Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C..
